  • Dr. Sarah Sugden, Au.D., F-AAA

    Owner - Watertown Audiology & Fyzical Therapy Balance Centers
    Chief Audiologist

    Dr. Sugden is a New York state licensed Audiologist who has been helping people escape their isolation and regain their hearing for more than 20 years. She obtained her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology from the University of Florida, Gainesville, received a Master’s Degree in Audiology from Syracuse University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Nazareth College in Rochester.

    She has extensive experience with adult and pediatric hearing testing, hearing aid fittings and hearing aid management, as well as vestibular testing (balance and dizziness testing) and newborn hearing screenings. She also performs tinnitus evaluations, Central Auditory Processing Disorder testing and workers compensation and pension examinations. She has also obtained several certifications in vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy through the American Institute of Balance and Fyzical.

    Dr. Sugden has received many accolades, including the “Women Of Distinction” award in 2016 from the NYS Senate and presented business of the year awards from the Greater Watertown-North Country Chamber of Commerce in 2014 and Downtown Watertown Business Association in 2012. She also is a Fellow with the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).

    In her spare time, she enjoys time with her family, relaxing at the family cottage and traveling.

  • Dr. Mary Catherine Urlacher, Au.D., CCC-A

    Clinical Audiologist

    Dr. Urlacher is a New York state licensed Audiologist and has been with Watertown Audiology since June 2018. She obtained her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology from Gallaudet University of Washington, D.C., and Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences with honors from SUNY Plattsburgh.

    She completed her fourth-year audiology externship with Watertown Audiology. She has experience with adult and pediatric hearing testing, hearing aid fittings and hearing aid management, as well as vestibular testing (balance and dizziness testing), tinnitus evaluations and newborn hearing screenings. She also earned her Clinical Certificate from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

    Dr. Urlacher has completed certifications in vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy through Fyzical. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors and enjoying the Thousands Island and St. Lawrence River.

  • Dr. Jordan Sgroi, Au.D., CCC-A

    Clinical Audiologist

    Dr. Sgroi is a New York state licensed Audiologist and has been with Watertown Audiology since June 2017. He obtained his clinical doctorate degree in Audiology from Salus University of Pennsylvania and Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from SUNY Fredonia.

    Prior to joining Watertown Audiology for his fourth-year externship, Dr. Sgroi garnered valuable experience in a busy hospital and clinical setting in the Department of Otolaryngology at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has experience with adult and pediatric hearing testing, hearing aid fittings and hearing aid. He also performs tinnitus evaluations, vestibular testing (balance and dizziness testing) and Central Auditory Processing Disorder testing.

    He also earned his Clinical Certificate from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). In his free time, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and cooking.

  • Joshua Grimshaw, BC-HIS

    Hearing Aid Dispenser

    Joshua has been with Watertown Audiology since October 2003. He has extensive training in hearing aid fittings, selection and repairs. Josh enjoys working with patients and teaching them to properly use and take care of hearing aids. He studied secondary education with a concentration in history at SUNY Potsdam and obtained an Associate’s Degree from Jefferson Community College.

  • Cary Maitland

    Audiology Assistant

    Cary has been with Watertown Audiology since February 2012. She has a full understanding of our patient’s needs and sees that they are scheduled in a timely manner and have everything they need when visiting our office for hearing aid appointments and repairs.

  • Jordon Ormsby

    Audiology Assistant

    Jordon has been with Watertown Audiology since August 2018. Jordon loves working at Watertown Audiology because of its amazing culture and teamwork. She enjoys spending time with the patients and getting to know about  their lives and interests.

    She earned her Master’s Degree in Literacy from SUNY Potsdam and Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences from SUNY Cortland. She spent the last 10 years as a speech language therapist, helping preschool age children, before joining Watertown Audiology.

  • Dr. Joel Grimshaw, DPT, PT

    Owner - Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center
    Physical Therapist

    Dr. Grimshaw has been with Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers since August 2017. He graduated from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, in December 1999 with his Masters in Physical Therapy. He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse in May 2010.

    He has worked in multiple settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, nursing homes, home health care and finally outpatient sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, where he has spent the last 20 years mastering his skills. Dr. Grimshaw has continued his education and training to include McKenzie mechanical evaluation and treatment as well as multiple sports and orthopedic related courses.

    He has also obtained several certifications in vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy through Fyzical. In his free time, he enjoys boating on Lake Ontario, hunting and fishing and spending time with family.

  • Dr. Kathleen Burns-Carne, DPT, PT, ATC

    Physical Therapist & Athletic Trainer

    Dr. Burns-Carne joined Fyzical Therapy in August 2018. She obtained her doctorate and Master’s degrees in Physical Therapy from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and bachelor’s degree in athletic training from SUNY Cortland.

    She was a physical therapist, specializing in pediatric sports medicine and concussion rehabilitation, with the Sports Medicine and Performance Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadephia for several years before joining Fyzical. She has worked at several outpatient rehabilitation facilities in Virginia and previously served as an adjunct professor at Radford University in the Exercise, Sport and Health Education Department. She also has been a consultant and physical therapist for Virginia Tech Athletics.

    Dr. Burns-Carne is also a Certified Athletic Trainer with vast experience with sports specific injuries and return to play protocols. She recently moved back to Central New York and looks forward to serving the community that she grew up in.

  • Dr. Meredith Bossinger, DPT, PT

    Physical Therapist

    Dr. Bossinger has been with Fyzical Therapy since April 2018. She obtained her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science from Daemen College in Amherst, New York.

    She previously worked in outpatient rehabilitation at Samaritan Medical Center and Carthage Area Hospital, where she saw patients of all ages with orthopedic conditions and infants with torticollis, prior to coming to Fyzical.

    She has obtained several certifications in vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy through Fyzical and American Institute of Balance. She also has her Level 1 RockTape Certification.

    She likes skiing, riding all-terrain vehicles and spending time outdoors with her family.

  • Lindsey Morgan, PTA

    Physical Therapy Assistant

    Lindsey has been with Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers since August 2018. She obtained her associates degree for Physical Therapy Assistant from SUNY Canton.

    Prior to Fyzical, she gained valuable clinical experience in outpatient rehabilitation for orthopedics and Samaritan Medical Center for medical-surgery patients.

    She has obtained several certifications in vestibular rehabilitation and balance therapy through Fyzical. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and attending her children’s sporting events (hockey, lacrosse and figure skating).
